Identified suspect Robert Lewis Dear, 57, stormed in an abortion clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado and shot and killed three people and wounded nine others. The attack began around noon when the shooter entered the clinic and began shooting. He then proceeded to engage in a gun battle with the police. Dear killed two civilians and one police officer. The nine surviving victims are now in good condition. The motive for the attack is not clear, but it can be assumed to be a result of the repeated protests by anti-abortion rights activists.
